Have you always wanted to draw, but just don't know where to begin?  Then join us for this comprehensive drawing series designed especially for beginners.  Concentrating on drawing in pencil, learn to draw what you see with a variety of tools, techniques, and styles.  Learn all about proportion, shading, composition, and lighting as we create a still life, landscape, portraits and more.

Add a touch of art to your curriculum and spend an afternoon exploring the gardens and the galleries!  Gain a sneak peek at our newest studio, the artLAB--a place where science and art merge to create wonderful discoveries.   Join us in a class to study different art styles and techniques through fun art projects, then search the Annmarie site for art that mimics what you've studied in class!

Set amidst the beautifully blooming garden and artfully arranged galleries, this class is designed for creative writers of all levels.  Genres may include poetry, fiction, drama, and creative non-fiction.  The student will be guided through the writing process using exercises and readings that emphasize dynamic and meaningful expression.  Students will have the opportunity to share their work and receive feedback from the rest of the class if desired.  Great for teens or adults.

Learn the fundamentals behind stained glass art as we explore the copper foil technique.  Learn to cut, shape and grind glass, as well as foiling and soldering techniques to make a small suncatcher for your window. All materials included.

They grow up so fast…. Capture a handprint or footprint in clay as you work with your little one to create a wall plaque perfect for gift-giving.  Learn how to embellish your plaque with a variety stamping and simple sculpting techniques.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Children of all ages welcome—infants too!  All plaques will be fired, stained, and ready to pick up on May 1st.

Learn this ancient paper craft by experimenting with the basic shapes to create your own quilling designs.  use them as decorations, ornaments, or adornments.  Each student will apply their quilling designs to a 5"x7" mat.

Learn basic drawing techniques to make your drawings POP!  Learn various sketching techniques and discover simple approaches to shading and perspective to bring depth and dimension to your drawings.  In this session, learn basic guidelines for drawing people. We will even have the opportunitie to apply these guidelines to animals, too!
