This exhibition seeks to unravel the layers of complexity and indulgence found in the realm of maximalism, showcasing the beauty that emerges when more is truly more. We aim to challenge traditional norms and push the boundaries of artistic expression by featuring a diverse array of artworks, installations, and designs that embody the extravagance, the lavishness, and the exuberance of maximalism. The exhibition will highlight bold colors, patterns, textures, intricate detail, and overwhelming visual richness. We envision the gallery walls to be clad in bold patterns and color. Graphic designers who produce fabric and wallpaper are also encouraged to apply.
‘MORE! Embracing Excess’ is open to all media. 2-D and 3-D artwork, indoor and outdoor work will be considered. All work must be created within the last four years. Artists must be 18 years or older. Artists must be living and working in the United States or Canada. This exhibition will be open to the public in the Main Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, from June 7, 2024, to August 25, 2024.

Art Blooms is a three-day exhibit featuring the work of more than 25 floral designers from across the region. Each floral designer is assigned a work of art in the Main Gallery or the Kay Daugherty Gallery and asked to create an arrangement inspired by that work of art. The results are surprising, beautiful, and provocative - and not to be missed. 2024 will mark the 15th year for Art Blooms, an exhibit co-hosted by the Calvert Garden Club and Annmarie Garden.
Art for All Seasons: Landscapes of the American Chestnut Land Trust is the culmination of a year of local artists creating plein air works of art depicting the beautiful landscapes found throughout the American Chestnut Land Trust's preserved lands surrounding Parkers Creek in Calvert County, Maryland.
ACLT is a member-supported nonprofit whose mission is to promote land conservation and preservation throughout Southern Maryland. Since its inception in 1986, ACLT has helped to preserve over 3800 acres in the Parkers Creek and Governors Run watersheds. ACLT connects people to the land via 25+ miles of trails that run through dense forests, farm fields and meadows, and along gurgling streams. ACLT also supports the food-insecure members of the local community by donating produce raised at its Double Oak Farm to the local food bank. Proceeds from the exhibition will allow ACLT to continue its mission for the benefit of this and future generations.
